Associate Justice James F. Duggan
New Hampshire Supreme Court
Justice James E. Duggan taught at Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord from 1977 until he came to the Supreme Court in January 2001, following his nomination by Gov. Jeanne Shaheen. He had been director of the state’s appellate defender program, which represents indigent clients in criminal cases that are heard by the Supreme Court.
A native of Laconia, NH, Justice Duggan is a graduate of Georgetown University and Georgetown Law Center, both in Washington D.C. Justice Duggan's appointment followed the retirement of Associate Justice Sherman D. Horton Jr.
