Michael Lewis is an Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Justice Bureau of the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office where he prosecutes homicides and other crimes. His first trial was the capital murder prosecution of John Brooks.

Mr. Lewis received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Kenyon College, magna cum laude, with distinction, and was elected Phi Beta Kappa in 2000. During his time at Kenyon, he was a member of four NCAA Division III National Championship swimming teams, and was named an Academic All-American in 1997. In his senior year, he served as captain of the swimming team and was elected student body president.

Mr. Lewis graduated from Boalt Hall School of Law, the University of California, Berkeley, in 2004, where he was elected to the Law Review, and served as Book Reviews and Essays Editor. Mr. Lewis was also elected to the moot court board where he served as the Director of Appellate Advocacy.

After law school, Mr. Lewis served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Paul Barbadoro, District of New Hampshire, for the 2004-2005 term. He then practiced for two years as an associate at the Washington, D.C. law firm, Arnold & Porter, in the firm's litigation department.
