Dr. Sylvio L. Dupuis

Sylvio L. Dupuis served as Manchester's mayor from 1972 to 1975. He was born in Manchester in 1934. He attended St. Anselm College and the Illinois College of Optometry. In the fall of 1957, he established a medical practice as an optometrist on Manchester's West Side.

Dr. Dupuis's community service and involvement has been extensive over the years. He has served on the board of directors at BankEast, Energy North, the New Hampshire Charitable Trust Foundation, and the Currier Gallery of Art.

In January 1975, Dr. Dupuis left as mayor to take a position as founding president of the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester. He has also served as Director of Health and Human Services for the State of New Hampshire.

He is married to the former Cecile Pellerin, and they are the parents of four children.
