CONCLUSION

Through at least five different names, five political reorganizations, two permanent homes, 105 justices, dramatic caseload increases, and numerous constitutional and legislative changes one thing has stayed consistent—that the history of the New Hampshire Supreme Court is a history of change. This article has presented an overview of that history.



About the Authors
Chuck Douglas of Douglas, Leonard & Garvey is a former Senior Associate Justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court, as well as a judge on the Superior Court. In addition, Douglas served as Legal Counsel to Governor Meldrim Thomson, Jr. and as a United States Congressman from the Second Congressional District of New Hampshire.
